Frequently asked questions

What is the RGS Worcester Giving Day?

It is an exciting 36-hour digital giving initiative in which we ask the entire School community of alumni, staff, parents, pupils and friends of RGS to come together to raise funds that will be used to provide additional bursary places at RGS Worcester.

With thousands of pounds to unlock in matched and challenge funding, it’s a day like no other and your gift will go even further than usual.

It will be a transformational day of giving and it’s all about what we can achieve together.

RGS Worcester’s first-ever Giving Day will take place on Wednesday 22-Thursday 23 March 2023. We’re excited for you to join us!

What difference will my donation make?

Your gift today will help enable talented and ambitious children from all backgrounds in Worcestershire to attend RGS Worcester, irrespective of their family’s financial circumstances.

All gifts, of every size, will make a real difference. With thousands of pounds to unlock in matched and challenge funds, gifts go even further than usual. All gifts, of whatever size, add up and make a significant difference. Having a large number of donors encourages others to support us too, so we would love as many members of our community to participate in the RGS Worcester Giving Day as possible.

How will my donation be used?

Every donation received for the Giving Day will be used to help fund additional bursary places at RGS Worcester. Bursaries are means-tested awards that are used to cover the costs of school fees.

Donations will be paid to The RGSW and AOS Foundation which is a registered charity (no 1170217). The Foundation exists to raise funds to support RGS Worcester and its pupils. The Foundation’s Trustees will pass all funds raised through the Giving Day to the School to support additional bursary places.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. All payments through the RGS Worcester Giving Day website will be securely processed by a secure, off-site payment processor called Stripe www.stripe.com/gb/privacy

All donations will receive an email receipt and will be recognised on the Giving Day Donor Wall.

Why is my payment not going through?

We’re sorry that you’re having difficulty making your gift. Common errors include: Incorrect card details, Postcode/zipcode is incorrect or doesn’t match the address linked to your card.

Please double-check the above before you contact us.

If you continue to have problems making your gift please email us at foundation@rgsw.org.uk. You can also call us during office hours on +44 (0)1905 613391.

Is there a minimum donation?

The minimum online gift amount is £1.

Can I claim Gift Aid on this donation?

Yes! If you are a UK taxpayer and have paid as much Income Tax and/or Capital Gains tax as the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations in that tax year, The RGSW and AOS Foundation can reclaim the basic tax rate (25%) on your gift, with no extra cost to you. So, for example, your donation of £100 will be worth £125.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can also benefit by obtaining relief for the donation on your tax return.

My question hasn’t been answered. How can I get in touch?
